This is a fine church with an excellent Romanesque door in the tower and a repaired/reconstructed on at the south.
The interior is painted with murals and is excellent though I found the marble sanctuary a little too much for my tastes.
There
is a carved head on the exterior south nave window which I believe is
either a face-puller or a spewer/green man (see below).
It
has an interesting corbel table, some of which is shown below. The
first has been suggested as being St Michael or St George and the
Dragon, the others are open to interpretation with the last one shown a
good possible sheela-na-gig though it has been suggested that it could be a monster devouring someone. Unless I can get a closer look we may never know.
