It was the day for dressing up for harvest festival when I visited
this church. It had a number of people, mainly women, attending to the
displays, the interior shots therefore show some of these people.
The
tower area has been modified to add rooms for community use and a small
balcony overlooking the main church, a useful and well-executed idea.
The
main area of interest for me was a superb collection of poppy-head pew
ends. One of which apears to be of greenman style but looks also like a
death mask, it definitely has leaves around the head. There are a
couple of other figures on other pews and a fish (not shown) on one.
The roof of the nave is decorated with wooden angels in a variety of poses and the chancel has a nice, if plain, sedilia.
