High Bridestones 

What remains of these stones is quite depressing. Easily located by the side of the road the High Bridestones consist of eleven stones, six still standing, which have been described in numerous ways. Burl believes they are more likely the wreckage of two Four-Posters.

I visited the site during the 1999 eclipse and found a lot of low denomination coins stuck into the cracks in the stones. Some were easily removed but others are well wedged in and I would probably damage the rock in removing them so they were left.
