Motorist spots mystery 'missile'
|
A driver was mystified after spotting a bright object in the sky near Scarborough
The man, of Wrench Green, near Hackness was driving west through Raincliffe Woods at 5.30pm yesterday
Sgt Tony Landray, of Scarborough police. said: "The man looked north
and saw what he described as a missile falling through the sky at a 45
degree angle towards the ground He said it was orange at the top with a
white tail"
Police checked with RAF Staxton Wold but could find no reason for the sighting, and did not receive any other reports.
Sgt Landray said that it could have been a meteorite.
