Malton

This church sits in the market place at Malton and is usually surrounded by parked cars. Its exterior shows signs of early architecture but only hints. the interioir was uninspring. There is a curious carving on the north wall, it appears to be a worn pair of exhibitionists wth some sort of animal between them. There is no reference to this anywhere that I know of, it presumably belonged to an earlier building.

On a trivia note the church features in the original film of 'All Creatures Great and Small' as the one in which James and Helen got married.
