The second Lastingham well stands around the corner from St. Cedd's to the north-east.

It is an alcove in the stone wall alongside the road heading north from the village. There still remains a metal pump with handle but the water no longer flows from it.

St. Chad was Cedd's brother and helped build the monastery.
