This church was built around 1050, probably on the site of an older wooden structure. It survived the ravages of the Norman conquest mainly due to its isolated position.
Around the church are various carvings set into its walls, both internal and external. Some of these have been in place for many years while a few around the porch were found when the church was renovated in 1904-11 and have been incorporated into the new structures. |
