Built in the 1870's this church is said to replace another in this location. It sits on a hill above a village which is supposed to have been an ancient burial mound.
I was disappointed to find that there is no evience of earlier buildings or habitation at all within the new church. The church itself was a little scruffy and neglected. It did have a sedilia and piscina in the chancel but these were contemporary with the main fabric of the church. |
