This impressive round barrow still remains to a height of around
15m. It has been excavated twice but on neither occasion were any
burials found though an empty grave was found on the second attempt,
the excavator at the time believed it to be unused.
It has been suggested that it was used as a meeting place, or Thing, during the medieval period.
