Resident calls in exorcist over ghost claims
|
An exorcist may be called to rid a flat of a poltergeist which a woman claims came close to blowing up her home.
Eerie happenings have been confirmed by the present and previous occupants and visitors to a flat in Mill Street, Driffield.
Tracey Mathison, who lives there now, was terrified when she awoke to
find a gas ring had been turned on, pumping out lethal fumes through
the house.
Other frightening events forced a previous tenant, Beverley Tullock, to
leave and the gas ring incident has made Tracey consider desperate
measure to ward off what she sees as an evil spirit.
"I wasn't that scared but the most frightening thing was when the gas was switched on," said Tracey, 28.
The Rev Willis, one of three exorcists appointed by the Church of
England in the East Riding area, said the occurrences fitted in with
known patterns of poltergeist activity.
"It does sound like a poltergeist," said Mr Willis, of Bridlington.
"If it is something which has been disturbed, usually prayer or blessing will bring peace.
"If it is evil we will perform an exorcism which involves the holding of a communion in the house."
