'Big Cat' is spotted up tree |
|
The elusive "big cat" has been seen again - trying to catch birds from a tree.
The Cayton man, who did not want to be named, said that he and his wife
looked out of their dining room window to see the animal in a tree on
the allotments between Cayton's Main Street, Beverley Road and Beverley
Close yesterday.
He said: "At first I thought it was just an ordinary cat, but then I
realised its size in comparison with the tree and noticed it was all
black with no distinguishing marks.
"It was very large and trying to catch birds from a branch."
He and his wife watched the creature for some time until it jumped down
from the tree and before the man could get his binoculars to have a
closer look.
Previous reports of a panther like animal have included sightings in the Cayton area.
The man added: "I wouldn't like to say what it was except it was bigger than a domestic cat and had a long tail.
"Up until now I have been sceptical about the sightings of similar animals in the area but this was certainly suspicious." |
