This is a wonderful church now in the care of the Church Conservation Trust.
It is sadly in need of some work, there is damp getting in the north
side of the chancel and all the woodwork is water-stained, there is
also signs of woodworm but this may have been treated as it didn't seem
active.
Nevertheless it should be visited. It has a
wonderful range of misericords and green man carvings plus an array of
other carvings and interesting features.
Below there are
some of the misericords including a face-puller, he can also be seen on
a corner of the rood screen. The green man appears in several other
locations too. There is also a fine set of carved heads set into the
east wall of the north aisle. The final photo shows some of the carved
heads on the roofline of the nave.
