Abbey or Boiling Well |

Known as Abbey Well or Boiling Well this sits at the side of the road between Hawsker and Robin Hood's Bay. Not very picturesque and often covered in graffitti the well housing is made of brick. Looking through the hedge side of the housing reveals a pool of fresh water, the ground around the well is often waterlogged.
There is a plaque on the wall which reads as follows:

The St Hilda mentioned was resident at nearby Whitby Abbey. |
