This small well can be found set into a bank at the edge of a wood not far from Malton. Inside is a shallow stone trough holding the clear water of the well. Whelan and Taylor (1989) describe it as being beside a tree-lined pool, alas this does not appear to be still true and on my visit in the spring the area was covered in wild garlic
